Inside Thai Policy: FPSD’s Academic Study Visit to MOAC and Parliament

New students from the Development Innovation and Sustainability (DIS) and Public Policy (PP) programs at the Faculty of Public Policy and Sustainable Development (FPSD) participated in a fruitful study visit to two Royal Thai Government institutions on September 23, 2026. Accompanied by FPSD Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thi Phuoc Lai Nguyen and Dr. Panjadach Singtho, the delegation visited the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MOAC) in Phra Nakhon, Bangkok, and the National Assembly of Thailand in Dusit, Bangkok.

During the visit to MOAC, students received an introductory briefing on the Ministry’s core functions and responsibilities from Mr. Krongsak Songraksa, Deputy Secretary-General of MOAC, and representatives from the Office of Agricultural Economics. The briefing focused on Thailand’s agricultural policies and strategic initiatives designed to build a sector resilient to economic, social, and environmental shifts.

Additionally, Mr. Kiattiyos Thongsaga, Director of the Academic Affairs and Planning Bureau, presented on behalf of the Agricultural Land Reform Office, highlighting government policies and land allocation strategies aimed at ensuring equitable distribution of the country’s land resources.

In the afternoon, the group proceeded to the National Assembly of Thailand, สำนักงานเลขาธิการสภาผู้แทนราษฎร , to observe an ongoing parliamentary debate firsthand.

The study visit provided our students with invaluable, real-world insights into national governance and policy formulation, laying a strong practical foundation for their academic journey at FPSD as future leaders in policy and sustainable development.

FPSD extends its sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MOAC), Agricultural and Land Reform Office (ALRO) and the National Assembly of Thailand for their warm hospitality and for sharing their valuable expertise with our students.
