Abstract: In Bangladesh community forest activities begins since 1980 to develop sustainable forest beside livelihood development though in the beginning commercial forest development was the only objective. The study area is the most disaster prone region named shamnagar under satkhira district of Bangladesh. The chemistry is that after cyclone AILA (2009) the CFM activities have taken places of development beside it s importance where gender is core points means women engagement i n CFM project that impact on benefit sharing , sustainable livelihood (DFID framework 2000) and of course forest development. The study was based on primary research methodology and data were collected from field through key – interview, FGD, HH semi – structured questioner survey and keen observation beside review of literature s. The findings of the study through data analysis identify that CFM project and women are interconnected. It has brought the change and improvement of local livelihood especially for benefi ciary member s . A s the matter of women engagement there have some social and manly constraints. The review of literature added the value of CFM project very s trongly but very poor in gender lens. So, CFM project and women engagement are a developing way of rural marginalized poor people , their livelihood capital and of course community forest through gender lens .
