Abstract: The main purpose of this study is to analyze the prevailing situation of rubber and cassava in terms of production, trade, economic profitability to farmers including positive and negative factors of the rubber promotion scheme in Sanam Chaikhet district, Chachoengsao province where a number of farmers have planted rubber in the early stage of the promotion as representatives of the non traditional areas. Twelve rubber farm models were prepared in accordance with the farmers’ farm management practices to study the profitability analysis of rubber investment. The main objective of these models is to reflect the impact of the fatm management practices on costs and revenues of rubber investments. The economic profitability are analyzed in terms of enterprise budgeting and investment analyses. Sensitivity analysis, based on depressed rubber prices and raised cassava price, were also carried out. The main findings in economic profitability analysis are: On the basis of enterprise budgeting analysis, all rubber farm models have greater average annual profits than cassava cultivation. Planting pineapple as inter crop in the first tlu·ee years, using l /2S 2/3d tapping system, producing rubber sheet as farm product by using own machine assets with the investment of life cycle 22 years return the most profit all among other fa1m models Based on the investment analysis measure the observation are: investment in all rubber farm models can return greater profits than cassava by providing IRR of incremental net benefit in investing rubber instead of cassava greater than discounting rate, positive NPV, and BCR greater than one. In investment analysis where time is considered as a major importance in investment, planting pineapple as inter crop in the first three years, using l/2S 2/3d tapping system, producing rubber sheet as farm product by using hired machine assets with the investment of life cycle 22 years return the most profit all among other farm models. The five main factors that influence rubber farmers to plan
