Economic impacts of microcredit on the poor and non-poor ethnic minorities in Di Linh District of Vietnam

Abstract: This study focused on the impacts of micro – credit projects on the social and economic aspects among the borrowers to the access to micro – c redit loans from Micro – Finance Institutions, which reproduces and invest in their agricultural production. The main findings of credit research are found that the borrowers of the poor and non – poor household s for ethnic m inorities took credit both collateral and requirement for LUC while access to micro – credit loans. In addition, the most households of ethnic minorities use credit for production purpose, whereas the households of ethnic minorities also use it for consumpti on purpose. Therefore, the poor and non – poor household of ethnic minorities has some positive aspects during their using of credit as well as the purchasing equipments for production purpose and the improvement of consumption services. On the other hand, t he poor and non – poor household s of ethnic minorities ha ve several negative aspects while them to use credit in their reproduction and investment namely, some households got low – income as well as they are not enough for food sufficiency while using of cred it on their economic activities. As a result, some the poor and non – poor households of ethnic minorities cannot achieve more benefits from getting credit in their economic activities because they were not satisfied about amount of loan insufficiency and in adequate as well as the lack of collateral while access to credit.
