Abstract: Bang-na District and Suan-Luang, Dokmai Sub-districts of Pravet District are located in the southern part of Bangkok Metropolitan. It is the areas of the districts of constituency that the woman MP of the selection is responsible for. The study intended to study and analyze how gender is a crucial factor in people’s attitudes towards women participation in political sphere, which had long been dominated by men. Furthermore. It aimed to ï¬nd out the enabling and constraints factors to wome-n’s participation in politics, according to respondent’ attitudes and views. The ï¬eld research was conducted utilizing qualitative methods: In-depth-interview with a woman MP was a case study and interview with infonnant voters, guided by the checklists, in order to gain their opinion and attitudes on women’s participation in political spheres, which at some certainty, affect their decision to vote for woman or man politicians. At the surface level, the study shows that people’s attitudes on gender ideologies are flexible and a women-friendly ones. All the informants mentioned that demarcation of work on the basis of sex should not be a norm of division in the line of works. Moreover, they given that dual burden of women and social acceptance on women are among the most important factors that limit women to take part in politics. But at the deeper level of analysis, the study found out that these attitudes and opinions, those from the woman themselves as well, are affected by the gendered ideas and especially the gender ideologies and gender identities of femininity and masculinity. The expression implied that women who are to he participated in politics should be like men or, at least, able to do what men are doing. The norms of evaluation are in the masculinists practices, as well as the political process that seems to be gender blind. In this way, socialization through generations is the most important factor. In addition, the study also sheds the light in to the informants
